This is my personal portfolio and blog. It has no user accounts, no mailing list, and no ads, and I do not sell any data. This page lists what the site does collect.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read. It records the pages you visit, the site that sent you here, your approximate location, and your device and browser type, and it sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to tell new visitors from returning ones. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser.

Comments

Posts have an optional comment section powered by giscus, which stores comments as GitHub Discussions in the public karuppusamy-d/blog repository. Nothing loads from giscus or GitHub until you click "Load Comments". To comment you sign in with GitHub, and your comment, username, and avatar are then public on GitHub under the GitHub Privacy Statement. giscus keeps your sign-in session in your browser's local storage (giscus privacy policy).

Stored in your browser

Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It is never sent to a server.

Server logs

As with most websites, the hosting provider may keep standard access logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to keep the site secure and running.

Email

If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply to you.

Other sites

Links to other sites, including the resume on Google Docs, GitHub, and social networks, are covered by those sites' own privacy policies.
